Dear Friends,
A very Warm Greeting from Spring of Hope.
We are so grateful to God for giving us a good friends like you. Thank you so much for your generosity extended to us. The children of Peniel Home, which is under the Spring of Hope, are really enjoying their life in many ways. They are studying good and secured good position in their Test/Examination. We are constructing a new Kitchen and Dining hall since the old one is leaking.
(Construction work is in good progress and the children are cleaning up the dirts and enjoying refreshment.Our new young member of Peniel Home Master SOMILAN ZINGKHAI is growing great. He is the son of the Care taker)
Friends, it is worth to remember that God sent William Pettigrew and Alice Pettigrew from American Baptist Mission to Ukhrul in 1896 as His messenger. They spent 38 years in Manipur enduring hardship as faithful servants of God sowing the light of life. The first school at Ukhrul by Pettigrew was in Febuary 19, 1897 with 20 boys. On September 29, 1901,the first 12 believers were baptised at Ngayira. The first Gospel Printed in local language that is; Manipuri was the Gospel of John. This is how God had chosen us. This is the basic beginning of our developmental journey with God. With those steps we started developing spiritually and physically by God’s Grace. Through this impacts the western villages (my village area) started education and later on some few likeminded leaders and village Chiefs organised Sagolmang Area Naga Long (SANL) in 1943 with the objective to support for Education. In those days there were only three educated persons with Class III & IV among the founding members. In commemorating this legacy left behind by our founding members we have celebrated Platinum Jubilee on April 12, 2018 at Kachai.In the meantime, we have decided to construct Jubilee Memorial Hostel at Ukhrul headquater for students. Fortunately being the president of the organisation I had an opportunity to speak in the occasion where about 3 thousand people gather to celebrate. We praise and thank God for His wonderful works He has done to us. Through His Mercy and our faith, you all are our best friends. Wherever I go, I speak of God’s Mercy and about your faithfulness to God. Thank you all for your prayer and support.
(The Eastern side of Ukhrul town. The first building is the Mission Bunglow built during Dr. Earl E Brocke. We are still using as Mission office. The second one is the Centenery Memorial Bulding cum Training Centre built to commomerate the coming of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Tangkhul Naga in 1896.)
